We found a really big playground on the way to the beach in Galveston. as we were waiting to take a turn at the drinking fountain, a little black girl comes up to me.
"I saw you running!"
"yeah, we were playing tag."
"uh huh." (awkward silence as she walks away)
my first ride in a taxi...
"is this yellow cab? yes, I'd like to reserve a cab for 10:45 at McAllister's Deli... ok, and what color will the cab be?"
"yellow."
"oh."
