a vibe, a fever, some wedding bubbles, and a trip down memory lane

What is a weekend without a little surprise from my favorite guy?
Few people know about my fetish for the Pontiac Vibe. Yes, I know I totally can't afford it, but something about that car just makes me happy. :)
And Jonathan just happens to have a generous friend who owns one and let us borrow it for the weekend!

Ahh... I got to drive a Vibe! :) The comfy seats, the red glow of the led screens, I am in love :D

We had dinner at the Henry's (the family he lives with) after picking up the car, and then back to Tyler for the weekend.

Jonathan wasn't feeling good by the time we got back, he curled up on the couch and we watched a movie as his temperature slowly increased--topping off to 103 degrees. I learned what it takes to keep a fever down, and try to keep him comfortable... and thank God I didn't have to take him to the emergency room, I was starting to get worried--his fever broke at about 3am and gradually came back to normal.

Glad you're feeling better now, dear. And it was a privilege to serve you and take care of you.

Saturday, we took it easy in the morning, ran a few errands, then had a late breakfast of pancakes, eggs, pineapple, and toast. Mmm...

Then we got ready for our friend's wedding-- Daniel and Holly! They have been leading our homegroup on Sunday nights, and we were so excited for them to get married!

We sat with Caleb, Megan and Zach, as well as two other couples from our church, at the beautiful reception in Hideaway Lake's country club.

And we finally got to dance! Wedding number 3 out of 4 that we have/will be going to together, and this is the first reception with dancing. It was one of the most fun weddings I've been to in a long time. Thanks so much, newly-married Jaquez family!

Lyn and Cal, two amazing people that are great role models in our church, and so much fun to be around--married 38 years strong!

I got a lot of wedding photography practice in--- I've been asked to do two weddings in September! How cool is that?!

Ran into an old Teen Mania friend/co-worker that I haven't seen since 2001, Kamerin, who is now married and has this adorable little guy--Beniah Moses. He has blue eyes with a spot of brown on one of them, cutest thing ever!

The bubbles really added an awesome effect, it was beautiful. She was beautiful. And he was, to say the least, ecstatic to finally have her as his wife. ;)

After the wedding, we hung out at Casey's house and watched Serenity.

Sunday, went to church, stopped to look at a badly flooded creek at the park (pictures to come later), and lunch with Caleb, Megan, Alan, and Matt. Then a short nap, stop into homegroups (met an incredibly talented girl who is an amazing artist--wow, I'm jealous!).

Then I took Jonathan out to Teen Mania's campus for the evening, to give him a taste of my life back in 2000. We joined a group of kids who had just arrived for their mission trips for their time of worship and a message on "What are you full of?" It was nice to be in familiar territory for a while. Gave him the grand tour, talked in the gazebo, and then ended the night with an attempt at watching a movie, but I fell asleep ;)

Looking forward to one last weekend here in Texas with Jonathan, and then getting ready for a week up North, visiting friends, family, going camping, attending a wedding and a quick tour of Chicago, and then another train ride back home to Tyler!

May this last week be full of memories, and that we will accomplish all that God has set out for us to do during our time in Texas... that we will not be quick to want tomorrow but enjoy today while it is here, and be hopeful of what the future holds in store for each of us.

I will be looking for a full time job upon my return to Texas in August. Pray for guidance and open doors to find the right job that will get me ahead financially enough to pay off my car quickly, begin to save for the future, and provide new opportunities to grow myself and be a light to others.
