eleven days in a nutshell

I'm back from yet another adventure with Jonathan... sending him off to his new life in Virginia while I hold down the fort back here in Texas...

After 2200 miles of driving through six different states...

The week before we left, Jonathan rescued me from a flat tire before we headed off to Dallas for the evening to meet his friend David:

David Ringer, who works with Wycliffe Bible Translators and spent some time in Papua New Guinea, was Jonathan's college roommate at LeTourneau, and we had the chance to meet for dinner and talk about our travels and ministry.

...yes, Jonathan is wearing a skirt. ;)

Jonathan and I took our friend Eddie flying the day before we left. He had never been in a plane before, and it was such a joy to give him that opportunity.

Drove through the night on Thursday, July 19, spent some time with Jonathan's family in Bloomington, Illinois on Friday. Then went to a wedding in Chicago on Saturday, and had a little free time in between the wedding and reception, so we stopped at this pretty park down the road and fed the birds and sat by the pond.

Left the reception and drove through to Port Clinton (near Sandusky), Ohio and stopped at his grandma's house at 3am to crash for a few hours and have breakfast before we leave for Huntington church in the morning.

Left church early to go meet Luke and Hannah before they leave for the week with the youth group... and spent some time at jump park with Kay and Lydia :)

Went to Four14 Sunday night, and camping at Findley State Park on Monday night; then spent some time at dad's for a few days.

Also had dinner with Chad and Natalie and Keith, and saw Jen and Makayla on Tuesday night. We left Thursday morning back to Port Clinton to have lunch with Jonathan's grandma, nap on the beach, and then leave for the Schedel Arberatum and Gardens. Beautiful place!

Then off to Indianapolis, Indiana to spend some time with one of Jonathan's flight students, Daniel, and his girlfriend Molly's family. Molly is one of 7 homeschool kids and lives in the countryside. We went canoing Friday morning and had lunch with them before heading back to Bloomington, Illinois.

Spent the remainder of our trip with Jonathan's family, and said our goodbyes Monday afternoon as I got ready to take the train back to Longview, TX. We got a little silly and sweet at the station as we waited for the train to arrive. :)

Thanks for a million memories, Jonathan. I will miss being with you, but am proud of you and am excited for what God has for you in Virginia. I thank God every day for you and what you mean to me.

And now, I am back to the real world... of looking for a job and praying that God will give me direction about this next season of life here in Texas.
