Old friends and new places

Well, I can finally say I'm home now, after keeping my trip to Ohio a secret from my brother for about a month now. It's good to finally be able to talk about it and not screen out any details. ;)

After a chaotic morning at work-turning to a restful Friday evening and seeing Pirates 3, Jonathan took me to the airport on Saturday morning and sent me off with prayer. I am so lucky to have him. (Thanks for letting me steal this picture).

Got home and surprised my brother during his cookout/birthday party. I think he was more confused than surprised, but it was good to see my family again!
On Sunday, I went to church up at Huntington, watched the parade, and then in the evening off to Wooster to see more friends.

Today, I met up with my brother and sister-in-law again and we went out to Hinkley Park to go hiking and walk the dogs.
As you can see, having an eye for the camera runs in the family...

Quickly becoming one of my favorite photos of Luke. It looks like it should be in a magazine (smiles proudly)!

Beautiful view of the valley below...
My brother: "They should cut down all these trees so we can see the view better". ;)

Having a good week so far, sleeping in, hanging out with good friends and family. I miss my hammock--surprisingly I can really tell the difference in quality of sleep without it. I also miss everyone back in Tyler (and Longview ;)
I've also realized that as good as it is to come back here and visit, catch up with friends, and get away for a while... this isn't really "home" any longer. And I'm ok with that.

Tonight Emily is coming over for much-anticipated girl's sleepover time. Then tomorrow, I take off for Michigan to see one of my dearest friends, Kristin! I haven't seen her in over a year, and we have a LOT to catch up on. :)

If you're around and have yet to hear from me and want to get together, give me a call or email me (but I may not get emails quickly). Thanks for a good start to my week!
